Williamson County Parks ad Recreation still has spaces available at its Bethesda, Fairview, Grassland, Hunters Bend and Nolensville camp sites, and has extended  registration opportunities for you before the Summer Camp program starts in June.  Please take advantage of these dates and times to come in and get your children registered for our outstanding summer program.

For Bethesda, Grassland, Hunters Bend and Nolensville camp locations….Registration will continue the following dates and times at the Franklin Recreation Complex located at 1120 Hillsboro Road in Franklin:

Please be aware that the Lipscomb Day Camp location is currently FULL.  You may choose to register at an alternative camp location and/or be placed on the Waiting List for Lipscomb.  If you would like to be added to the waiting list for Lipscomb, please call Trisha Bilbrey at (615) 790-5179 ext.44.

Please download, print and complete the Registration Form Packet (1 per family) and a Medical Information Form (1 per child) to bring with you to registration.

At the time of Registration, you will be required to pay a $25.00 Registration Fee per child as well as a minimum of 3 days @ $17.00 per day, per child.

Registration has begun for an exciting summer camp hosted by the WCS School Age Child Care (SACC) program.  Let the Games Begin is a 10 week long summer day camp that will be held May 29 through August 3 at the following locations throughout Williamson County:

  • Allendale Elementary
  • Chapman’s Retreat Elementary
  • Clovercroft Elementary
  • College Grove Elementary
  • Crockett Elementary
  • Heritage Elementary
  • Kenrose Elementary
  • Longview Elementary
  • Oak View Elementary
  • Trinity Elementary
  • Westwood Elementary

The camp will include a balance of child selected activities as well as staff directed games, crafts and enrichment projects. Each week, students will explore a different country and focus on an Olympic sport. Along with enrichment activities, each location will have a variety of clubs for children to participate in.  These clubs will help children explore new activities focused on the arts, academics and athletics.

SACC day camp is open to Williamson County residents whose children have completed kindergarten through fifth grade.  Pre-K students who have attended a Williamson County Schools pre-K program may also attend.  Several levels of registration exist to meet the needs of WCS families.  Parents have the option to sign up for each of the 10 weeks separately for either full time care for a flat rate of $100 per week or as a drop-in, attending only as needed, for $25 on non-field trip days and $28 on field trip days.  The day camp staff consists of Williamson County School employees.

Dates:    Monday—Friday, May 29—August 3, 2012. 
Camp will be closed on July 4, 2012.

Hours:    6:30a.m.-6:00 p.m. 

Weekly Fees:  Full-time care is a flat $100 per week plus a camp 
registration fee.  Drop-in care is $25 per day on non-field trip 
days and $28 on field trip  days. Plus a camp registration
fee.  Each camper will receive a free t-shirt.

Lunch/ Snacks:  A light breakfast will be served to campers who 
arrive by 9:30 a.m.
A snack will be provided each afternoon.
Students will need to bring a sack lunch daily.

Eligibility:   SACC is open to all students who are residents of 
Williamson County or attend Williamson
County Schools. Camp is open to children who have 
completed Kindergarten through 5th grade.  Pre-K
children may attend if they  have completed a 
Williamson County School pre-K program.

Camp Locations:  Campers can attend any camp location.  For the 
summer of 2012 camps will be held at: Allendale 
Elementary, Chapman’s Retreat Elementary, 
Clovercroft Elementary, College Grove Elementary, 
Crockett Elementary, Heritage Elementary, 
Kenrose Elementary, Longview Elementary, Oak 
View Elementary, Trinity Elementary, and 
Westwood Elementary.  
Williamson County students can attend any
location.

The Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department is pleased to offer registration for re-certification challenge courses for CPR certificate holders and lifeguards. Registration begins at 4 p.m., Monday, April 23 at the Aquatics office of the Indoor Sports Complex, 920 Heritage Way in Brentwood. Individuals must register in person. Each class is $25 and space is limited.

The CPR Challenge will be Monday, May 7 at 5 p.m., and the Lifeguard Challenge will be Wednesday, May 9, at 5 p.m. at the Indoor Sports Complex. Participants must already be familiar with all standard course material. Both challenges are pass/fail, and there will be no review given. Williamson County Parks and Recreation is launching a great selection of summer sports camps for boys and girls ages 8 through 13. Improve skills and learn new techniques in table tennis, volleyball, basketball, tennis or soccer.

Each four-day camp is $55 per child, and pre-registration is required in person at the Franklin Recreation Complex, 1120 Hillsboro Road. Space is limited (50 participants per camp) and available on a first come-first served basis. Payment is due at registration.

Time is running out for students who want to be part of the 2012 Summer Freshman Academy at Brentwood High School.

This annual event gives rising freshmen an oprtunity to experience fundamental concepts through engaging activities and integrating core content subjects. 

The Summer Freshman Academy will be held June 11-14 from 8 a.m. until noon each day.  There is no cost to attend, but space is limited so make your plans today.

Mirror, mirror on the wall, who's the cutest of them all?  We'll find out April 14 at the Little Mr. and Miss Franklin Pageant.  This fundraising event is open to all children who are 3-6 years-old, as long as they are not yet in first grade.  The cost is $25 to register for the pageant; admission is $5.

Proceeds from the event will benefit multiple programs at Franklin High School.  From the graphic design students who created the posters to the culinary arts students who will be providing refreshments, many FHS students are actively involved in organizing this unique and exciting event.

Registration for Camp Will, the Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department’s summer therapeutic day camp will be at the Franklin Recreation Complex, 1120 Hillsboro Road on Thursday, April 19 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Tuesday, April 24 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Parents or legal guardians of campers must register in person. If your child has never attended Camp Will, please schedule an assessment appointment prior to April 13 by calling (615) 790-5719, ext. 21.

Camp Will is a seven week day-camp for children, adolescents and young adults ages 6-23 with physical or developmental disabilities. The 2012 camp will be held at Hunters Bend Elementary School, 2121 Fieldstone Pkwy. in Franklin, Mondays through Fridays, June 4 through July 20 (no camp on 7/4) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. To accommodate more participants, parents may only register campers for up to five of the seven weeks of camp. There is a non-refundable registration fee of $20 for all campers, plus $51 per week of camp. Payment is due in full at registration.

Presented by the Therapeutics Division of Williamson County Parks and Recreation, this innovative camp offers exciting experiences and education through swimming, art, music, dance and recreation therapy. Participants are required to be residents of Williamson County and enrollment is limited.

ENCORE is back for another summer!

Williamson County Schools' popular summer enrichment program will be held at 10 schools this year.  Registration has begun at several locations so anyone interested should contact the individual school for additional details.  Below is a list of the dates and times for ENCORE camps this summer.

Seniors, age 55 and older, are invited to join the Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department on Thursday, March 8 for a trip to two of the Nashville area’s most famous sites.

The first stop of the day is the Bluebird Café to experience the world renowned songwriter’s performance venue. The Bluebird Café offers a wonderful musical program just for Seniors, where entertainers donate their time and volunteers are ready to serve coffee and refreshments.

After the show, participants will head on over to the Loveless Café. This Nationally acclaimed eatery is frequented by celebrities and country music stars, and offers delicious home style cuisine.

The cost of the trip is $36, which includes the trip and lunch. Gratuity at the Bluebird will be Dutch treat. Space is limited for this event. Registration will run from February 17-March 1 or until full. Transportation will be provided from the Longview Recreation Center, 2909 Commonwealth Drive in Spring Hill and the Franklin Recreation Complex, 1120 Hillsboro Road. Check-in at Longview will begin at 8:00 a.m., and the group is estimated to return at 4:00 p.m. Check-in at Franklin will begin at 8:45 a.m., and the group is estimated to return at 3:00 p.m.
