Members of the Brentwood Middle School chapter of the National Junior Honor Society recently presented Williamson County Animal Control with more than $600 in cash donations and other supplies. After learning of the need for a new washer and dryer at the animal control offices in Franklin, the students at Brentwood Middle designed a fundraiser called My Pet and Me.  For a minimum donation of $1, BMS students could bring in and display photos of themselves with their pets in the school cafeteria. The students not only raised $613 in cash donations, they also received dozens of items like dog and cat collars, toys and pet food.  In addition, a family donated a washer and dryer, allowing the students to exceed their original goal. Last month, members of the BMS National Junior Honor Society traveled to the animal control offices for the check presentation. The National Junior Honor Society is the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding middle school students.

The eclectic folks of Leiper’s Fork pull out all the stops during the holidays with their version of a Christmas Parade.  You’ll see everything from Viking ships to Santa.

 

New this year, Leiper's Fork is helping needy animals during the winter months.  The Williamson County Animal Shelter needs our help with their wish list.  We're setting up a drop-off area for donations under the arbor beside Puckett's Gro. & Restaurant.
