This sweet dog is wasting away in a TN shelter. She seems to be getting more and more depressed by the day. She doesn’t have a name and looks to be some type of Bird Dog, maybe 1-2 years old. She is so quiet and serene that she doesn’t even get noticed. She desperately needs to get out and have some human affection and care. If you could foster this girl or better yet give her a home, please let us know right away. Every day is like an eternity and her spirit is dying. We are a group of dedicated rescue people who want to save as many dogs and cats from the local shelters before they are euthanized. On the average....there are only 1 out of 10 animals that get adopted from a shelter. We are dedicated to helping increase pet adoptions by offering a shelter animal a foster home to go to while awaiting an adoptive family to find them on our Petfinder website. Won't you please adopt a shelter animal? Or won't you please help us foster a shelter animal while we are looking for their perfect home? What a gift you can give a dog or cat by giving them a place to feel safe and secure....a forever home or a foster home. Won't you help us at Critter Cavalry give them a chance to have a life?
By appointment only.
Adoption contract required.

Update 7/10/11
Jack is coming back, as his adopter has to have some surgery and won't be able to take care if him (walks, etc) for a good while. This is why you adopt from a rescue; if anything comes up & you have to give the dog up, we take them back!
Jed is 1 year & 2 months (June), male, neutered, & housebroken. He is learning his name, is about 50% on his sit, stay and come, & is good with other dogs.
Jed was abandoned by his owner.
If you think you might like to adopt one of our other dogs, please visit our website at www.mtbr.org and fill out an online application; it does not commit you to adopting. Our dogs live in foster homes (more are always needed!), at our farm in Brentwood, & in boarding.
Every dog adopted out by MTBR must be an inside dog. There are no exceptions!
We require a fenced yard. We do not consider an electric fence to be an acceptable fence.
We do not make same-sex placements. Same-sex boxers almost always begin fighting, necessitating the placement of one or the other into another home. Boxer often get along well with same-sex dogs of smaller breeds.
DISCLAIMER: Dogs have been observed while in the rescue program, and appear to be of stable temperament. However, it is not possible to test dogs under all circumstances, so caution should be used in new environments, especially involving young children.

On Fathers Day we traveled to Lafayette, TN and picked up a boxer mix male dog from the animal shelter that was due to be euthanized the next day. We just wanted to save his life. As far as we can guess, Boze is approx 1 1/2 - 2 yrs old. He is a wonderful dog with a great personality and disposition. He bonds very good with people and gets along good with other dogs. He is curious around cats. He is playful and full of energy.
Boze picks up on commands and training quickly. We have crate trained/house trained Boze and he goes in his crate very easily now (with a treat, so far) at night and when we go to the store, etc. He needs a fenced yard. We had Boze neutered, all his vaccinations and he is heartworm negative. He has a splash of white color behind his head (on top of his neck). Our intentions were not to keep him, but just to foster him until we could find a good home for him. We are elderly and we have 3 elderly pets of our own already.
Things have taken a turn for the worst for us recently....We are not able to foster Boze any longer. He is a good dog.

Baby's owner is currently living in a rental home which is being sold, and so she may have to move. She also is a nurse and works 12-16 hour shifts and feels like she doesn't always give Baby the attention that she deserves. Baby is 7 and spayed. She is house broken, but might have an accident if she gets nervous or stays inside too long (as any dog would). She isn't crate-trained but will sit, lay down, high five and has the softest bark I have ever heard. She is a very easy going dog and loves to be around kids and dogs! Never been around a cat so not really sure about that.

Sasha is a six and half year old female boxer that has been spayed. She is current on all of her shots except for bordatella, and that is because she has never been to a kennel or grooming. She is in excellent health, though the vet did say she would like to see her gain 4-5 pounds (she is currently 52#).
Sasha is dog friendly with all sizes, she is however extremely playful and this scares other dogs. She is cat curious with very little exposure. She does not have much exposure to children but that being said she is ok around them once she is done trying to lick them to death.
Sasha is housebroken but not kennel trained, she has slept on or at the foot of my bed since she I got her. She is located in Franklin, TN.
She is a well-mannered, loving dog. I am trying to rehome her because my fiancée is highly allergic to dogs and cats.

Browny is a boxer/terrier mix that was abandoned at Lebanon Animal Hospital. They are trying to find somewhere to place her, so she won't have to go to the pound.
Browny is spayed and her birth date is 11-5-2005. She does not like cats, but gets along with small dogs. She came from a home that had a ten year boy, but they don't know about younger children. She is leash trained and housebroken, and up to date on shots.
She has only this week to be placed.

Punky is an 8 month old male Chihuahua puppy. He has a beautiful white coat like his mama with a little bit of tan markings, very cute. Punky is a shy little puppy from his rough beginning, no doubt, and needs time to warm up. He was surrendered by his owners along with his mother and brother and not sure just who he can trust these days. Punky is still young and sure to grow into a trusting adult dog with some love and care from a family he can call his own. If you can give this sweet, timid little guy the home that he needs please let us know. ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED. CONTACT CANDACE AT This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
