Williamson County Parks and Recreation (WCPR) is pleased to announce a free open house on Friday, February 10 at the Indoor Arena at Crockett Park, 1485 Volunteer Pkwy., in Brentwood.
Stop by anytime between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m., meet the staff and learn about the many diverse programs now offered by WCPR at the facility. In addition to indoor soccer, lacrosse, rugby and flag football, the multi-purpose facility now hosts Fitness Boot Camp, fencing, golf clinics, Tiny Tots soccer camps, Zumba, and a new Rhythm and Spirit tumbling and cheer program for ages 2 to 17.
The Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department opened the 29,000 square foot facility in March 2007. The arena contains a professional 60 by 30-yard field turf playing surface, a 30-person conference room and referee changing area. The facility is located within Crockett Park, off Crockett Rd. on Volunteer Pkwy. During the open house, registration information for all programs will be available along with facility tours. FITNESS BOOT CAMP
Fitness Boot Camp is a fast-paced, high energy interval class that combines dynamic strength building exercises and cardio circuits to challenge every part of the body. Each class is a calorie-burning, muscle-sculpting workout designed to motivate and inspire participants to achieve their fitness goals. Fitness Boot Camp meets every Tuesday and Thursday from 8:15 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. ($10 per class) at the Indoor Arena at Crockett Park, 1485 Volunteer Pkwy. in Brentwood. ZUMBA
Zumba is an easy-to-follow, effective, high-energy dance party that combines Latin-inspired steps and music to create a fun and exhilarating class. Get fit while dancing and see energy levels soar! Zumba meets every Tuesday and Thursday starting February 2 from 9:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. ($6 per class) at the Indoor Arena at Crockett Park, 1485 Volunteer Pkwy. in Brentwood. FENCING
Learn the art of fencing from Doug Harris, coach of World Cup, U.S. National and NCAA Championship fencing teams. Harris offers 90-minute classes which include warm-up, group instruction and free practice. Classes are held on Wednesday evenings at the Indoor Arena at Crockett Park, 1485 Volunteer Pkwy. in Brentwood. Students ages 8 to 12 meet from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., and teens and adults (13 and older) meet from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. The cost is $100 for five lessons.
